Goalkeeper Alan Blayney has returned to the Seagulls after being released by Doncaster Rovers and is free to join the Albion as a replacement for the departed Wayne Henderson.
The 25-year-oldNorthern Ireland international joined Rovers from Southampton for £50,000 in January 2006, but had his contract cancelled mutual consent for personal reasons this January. He made 26 league and cup appearances while with the Yorkshire club.
Blayney of course spent two loan spells with the Albion before his move to Rovers and looked set to join on a permanent basis before the arrival of Wayne Henderson. In total Blayney has appeared for the Seagulls 15 times.
Speaking to the Argus about the move Chairman Dick Knight said: “We want to keep Michel on his toes and therefore we are bringing Blayney back in.
“Dean and I will sit down with him and hopefully we will have him ready to be on the bench on Saturday. He is a free agent and I don’t see any problems.”
