Blayney move off

Goalkeeper Alan Blayney will not be making a return to the Albion after failing to agree to a length of contract. The former loan signing was expected to rejoin the Seagulls after the departure of Wayne Henderson to Preston on Wednesday.

Blayney was free to join the Seagulls despite the closing of the transfer window after being released from his contract early by League One rivals Doncaster Rovers.

The former Southampton keeper had spent two loan spells in the past with the club and was viewed by many as a perfect replacement for Henderson.

Albion manager Dean Wilkins is expected to call on youngster John Sullivan to provide cover for Michel Kuipers while a search for a long term replacement for Henderson is found.
