Bristol City Preview

Posted in Previews | By Wilka

Bristol CityAlbion face a real tough test tomorrow as another of League One’s promotion hopefuls Bristol City visit the Withdean as the Seagulls look to make it 4 wins in a row.

Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Gillingham made it three wins in a row for the Seagulls who have dramatically turned their form around.

The last time out at Withdean the Seagulls disposed of another of the divisions top sides in Nottingham Forest in a 2-1 which should give Dean Wilkins side a confidence boost going into tomorrow’s game.

City currently sit in 5th place in the table with their league form taking a slight dip due to some impressive FA cup exploits.

City made it through to the 4th round of the FA cup and took Premiership club Middlesbrough all the way in a replayed cup-tie that Boro finally won 5-4 on penalties. Both ties had ended in 2-2 draws.

The FA cup isn’t the only competition City have excelled in this season they are also doing well in the Johnson’s Paint Trophy, a competition where we have already meet this season with City knocking Albion out following a 2-0 win at Ashton Gate in the Southern Section semi finals just a few weeks ago.

This Wednesday saw Bristol City draw 0-0 in the area final against League Two City rivals Bristol Rovers.

In the League City won their last outing 1-0 away to Blackpool. In their last 5 league games there form has been inconsistent with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats.

Albion boss Dean Wilkins is expecting the Seagulls to face their toughest test of the season, he told the Argus: “I believe Bristol are the best side in our division.

“They pose slightly different problems. The players they have got are technically very good, so at any time you can get some bit of individual brilliance from them.”

So if the Albion are to make it 4 wins in a row it will be one of the best results of the season.
