The Seagulls continued to struggle at home as they were held at home to a goalless draw by midtable Port Vale desipte having some good chances to grab all three points.

Albion really should have come away from the game with all three points after keeping Port Vale quite for most of the 90 minutes.

Striker Jake Robinson went close on two occasions to ending his current run without a goal, but with confidence low things just don’t seem to be falling at the moment.

Striker partner Joe Gatting also went close in the first half, but his header was straight at Joe Anyon following a great cross from Robinson.

Vale’s best chance fell to Paul Harsley who fired a 20-yard free kick goal wards forcing Kerry Mayo to clear off the line after Joel Lynch has hand balled.

Another clean sheet is a good sign, but the Seagulls need a change of luck in front of goal. You feel that once Robinson finds the net again the goals should start to flow.

Next week Albion take on Rotherham and will be looking to change their Withdean luck and move themselves away from the relegation zone into midtable safety.
