Albion reserves smash QPR 8-2!!!

Posted in News | By Wilka

For the second reserve team game in a row Albion have found their goal scoring boots, after thrashing rivals Crystal Palace 4-1 last week. This time the reserves smash 8 goals past QPR at Worthing’s Woodside road ground with Joe Gatting grabbing 5 goals in a 8-2 win.

I know what you’re thinking, what sort of side did QPR send down? There lady’s team or perhaps their youth team…. Well in fact they sent a fairly strong side down containing the likes of Stefan Moore who has appeared and scored in the Premiership for Aston Vila.

To be fair to QPR they were reduced to 9 men in the second half, but not before the Seagulls had taken a 6-1 lead.

Gatting opened the scoring after 15 minutes when he headed in a Gary Hart cross.

Another in form striker Nathan Elder grabbed the second with a cheeky lob before Alex Frutos made it 3-0 win a penalty he won and converted.

Forgotten man Gary Hart made it 4-0 after the interval before Joe Gatting tucked away his 2nd of the evening.

Stefan Moore pulled one back for the visitors before Gatting completed his hat trick.

QPR were then reduced to 9 men in a two-minute period with Rose first to go following his second yellow card of the evening and goalkeeper Cole followed shortly after for handling outside his area.

Joe Gatting scored from the resulting free kick and completed the scoring for the Seagulls with 8 minutes remaining.

QPR did grab a late consolation through Rohan Ricketts.
