Albion have today completed the siging of 26-year-old midfielder Alexis Bertin from Le Havre until the end of the season.

Bertin has made 101 first team starts for Le Havre and joins the Seagulls on a free transfer.

The centeral midfielder was on trail with Championship side Ipswich Town earlier in the season, but failed to win a full contract.

Speaking about joining the Seagulls Berin told Seagulls.co.uk: “I am happy to sign for Brighton and I want to help the team develop.

“I think my style of play will suit the English game more - in France the referee always blows his whistle when I make tackles!

“I always wanted to play in England because of the fighting spirit and the bigger crowds. You have more supporters in England than in France.”
